Jeff Schneider is the managing principal of Strategic Funding Alternatives, LLC “SFA”. Mr. Schneider is responsible for identifying investment opportunities in commercial real estate properties for SFA. Once an opportunity is identified, Jeff manages the calculation of the financial opportunity for SFA and its investors. Mr. Schneider also oversees operations once an investment opportunity is acquired, to ensure prompt execution of construction deadlines to meet financial projections.
Jeff is regarded as one of the Delaware Valley’s most accomplished and successful commercial real estate owners. South Jersey BIZ Magazine recently named him “One of the most significant commercial real estate developers in South Jersey.”
Prior to SFA, Mr. Schneider established The Mortgage Group in 1998 to originate commercial and residential mortgages in New Jersey and Pennsylvania where the company booked in excess of five hundred million since its inception. His company also has bought and developed numerous commercial properties in New Jersey. Mr. Schneider is licensed as a real estate agent in New Jersey and was a Vice-President with RAIT Financial Trust which specializes in multi-family apartment building transactions.
Stephen McCarthy is the Director of Investor Relations for Strategic Funding Alternatives, LLC “SFA”. Mr. McCarthy is responsible for raising equity capital from private investors for real estate acquisitions with private investors. He also manages communication between SFA and the investor group, providing periodic updates on investments, market insight, and is a resource for investment questions.
Mr. McCarthy’s financial background began in 2011 as a professional with 1847Financial, Penn Mutual’s flagship office. Mr. McCarthy was a founding principal with the firm, specializing in advising high net worth individuals and small businesses to help create sound financial strategies, including in risk mitigation and wealth management.
Mr. McCarthy pivoted from a “traditional” financial planning role and entered the alternative investment space in 2013. At such time he focused his efforts on raising capital for various non-traditional investments such as life settlements, green energy initiatives, and merchant cash advance facilities. Since 2013, Mr. McCarthy and his company have focused exclusively on working with high net worth clients, introducing uncommon investment strategies, and effectively and efficiently shielding capital from market risk.
Mr. McCarthy is a graduate of St. Joseph’s Prep, and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He also obtained a Retirement Income Planning certificate from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Alicia Lukens is the Controller for Strategic Funding Alternatives, LLC. Ms. Lukens handles the accounting and financial reporting for SFA properties. Ms. Lukens is responsible for implementing processes and procedures to increase the efficiency and accuracy of all accounting and financial reporting functions. Ms. Lukens also assists in financing activities of the company
Ms. Lukens began her career working for Interstate Realty Management Company (IRM), a multi-million dollar residential property management company, specializing in government-subsidized rental programs nationwide. Ms. Lukens rose to the position of Regional Accounting Manager for IRM, responsible for the financial management of a portfolio consisting of 24 properties (2,400 units)
In 2010, after relocating to Southern California, Ms. Lukens began working as the Controller for Blackhawk Capital Group, an independent, licensed, full-service real estate brokerage, investment and property management firm with residential and commercial acquisition funding facilities. At Blackhawk, Ms. Lukens provided accounting and financial reporting functions for multiple properties located throughout Southern California and the Pacific Northwest, under multiple growing investment portfolios.
Ms. Lukens is a Graduate of Neumann University in Aston, PA with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.
Sherry Bertino is a Property Manager at SFA. Ms. Bertino has been with SFA since the company’s inception. She serves as a point person for tenant and property matters at the company's multiple real estate properties. Ms. Bertino also manages a number of virtual office clients for SFA. She brings more than a decade of experience to this role, serving as building manager for the Tarragon, Cherry Hill property prior to her current position.
Sharon Cosper is a Property Manager at SFA. Ms. Cosper brings 20 years of residential property management experience to the team. She has worked in a diverse variety of roles within this sector of real estate, including homeowner association positions, Section 8 housing management, and general property management roles at the Kamson Corp, Korman Residential, Morgan Properties and Jager Management. Ms. Cosper’s experience and deep understanding of this business provides an excellent level of service to the management of SFA properties.
